Send in armed UN peacekeepers, break up the fight between Israel and Hamas. Rebuild homes, schools, hospitals and infrastructure. Get water flowing again. Get food to the people. Get the UN policing both Gaza and the West Bank even if it means firing on the IDF or Hamas. Provide counselling to those who have lost loved ones.
Build workplaces.
Turn Palestine into a viable state administered under a UN mandate.
Have the UN provide schooling for 50 years.
Use the clock against Hamas fighters.
Kick out illegal settlers.
Yes!!!!! Except we all know the UN is 100% toothless and a waste of resources - if only they weren't and actually did something to stop the slaughter.. |

By refusing to set a boundary and stick to it (enforce it themselves) they are making their own survival harder You do know that the Palestinians are not 'allowed' armed forces, that is why Hamas are called terrorists. |

Chances of getting a UN force together that could control Israel's actions are less than bugger all. Israel and especially Likud's precursor movements have 'form' for lethal violence against such.

IOW, you're saying Hamas aren't terrorists and are the good guys. Yikes. I did not say that, please do no make things up. I said the Palestinians are not 'allowed' to have armed forces, so they have to access arms illegally if they want to protect themselves from Israeli occupation. |

I did no such thing I simply said that we call them terrorists because they are obtaining illegal arms to defend themselves even though they are not allowed to. Whether one believes they are right or wrong is a matter for their individual consciences. People like you take a phrase like "they are not allowed armed forces" and attempt to turn it into an endorsement of illegal actions and terrorism, this is poor form, illiterate and insulting. "they just function as Gaza's armed forces, yes or no?" another idiotic question, Hamas are acting as Gaza's armed force, we all know that, that does not mean that I believe they are doing the right thing. Why are you so certain that Palestinians do not have the right, which is a legal right, to defend themselves? I will not limit you to a 'yes or no' answer. Hamas are not called an army because Palestine cannot have an army. |
