So what?
This is about EDL thugs deciding they can attack who the fuck they like, try to kill police and just generally terrorise communities. Why should we ever let such sub humanity free on our streets again?
An alternative is just arm our police so anyone trying to throw a brick at police or indeed at anyone gets a bullet through their thick head.

I would not favour simply gunning down protestors, however violent they may be or obnoxious their cause. Lethal force should only be used if life is being threatened.
However, these EDL scumbags are racist assholes. The fact that the suspect's parents both appear to be from Rwanda most probably means that the suspect himself is black.
And that just invokes a massive so what from most ordinary and decent people.
But to these EDL creeps, the fact that he is likely to be black - and the son of immigrants - is all they need to whip up racist animosity off the back of a terrible atrocity and the raw emotions it will have triggered.
I hope to see some of these scumbags before a judge and sentenced to time in jail.

The police will have some clear footage of the 'protesters' and identification should be very easy. What is clear is that all the thugs seen throwing missiles at the police and there was a lot of them, should receive sentences well in excess of 5 years.
Tommy Robinsons' name was being chanted by a number of those in the crowd.

Only 2% of the population are Muslim. Why didn't they attack a church?

If you throw a brick you are intending to take life so shooting such is legal but remember that was not my preferred course of action which is to proscribe the EDL and send its leaders to a jail cell.

There was only a few fires, so by modern media standards this protest was 'mostly peaceful'

There was only a few fires, so by modern media standards this protest was 'mostly peaceful' 50 police officers were hospitalised, with injuries including broken bones and one being knocked unconscious, as well as a police van being set on fire, by racist thugs disgustingly seeking to weaponise a terrible atrocity. It was in fact the least peaceful demonstration, and most violent, for many years. And those involved were clueless clowns, doing it outside a mosque when the person concerned was the son of Rwandan parents, Rwanda being a 98 percent Christian country. And the police themselves have stated that there is zero evidence of any Islamic connection. Violent thugs do not cease to be violent thugs just because you agree with them.

Not necessarily. You might be intending merely to injure, to vandalise, or to force a retreat. None of which is acceptable of course. But I doubt that any of them were actually intending to kill anybody, not least because they would not want to face the consequences of such an action. Too cowardly for that, most of them I expect.

It's no good appealing to me, i didn't set the standard. In fact, I recall raising objections at the time. The BLM protests were accompanied by a large number of deaths, significant amounts of arson, looting and assault. This was all considered perfectly par-for-the-course for a protest. Btw i'm expecting things to get a lot worse, because labour isn't going to stop piling wood on the bonfire.

But this particular bonfire was entirely provoked by fake news triggering a load of racists. How can that be Labour's or any other government's fault? The fault lies with a bunch of racist knuckle draggers too pig ignorant and thick as shit to know they are being played, and desecrating the memory of those poor kids in the process. Absolute shame on them and I hope the legal system throws the book at them. Many of these thugs were EDL members. That organisation needs to be put on the proscribed list and outlawed for promoting violence and disorder.
