I think there's a big difference in the that scenario. Anyone can lose it in the moment but someone deliberately planning an attack to humiliate to publicise her Only Fans account definitely has Mens Rea

Pushing someone is way less serious than leaving someone soaked in milkshake with ruined clothes after of course that moment of terror not knowing if it was a corrosive or toxic that had hit them. Talk about bigging it up. Has poor Nigel got Post traumatic lactose syndrome. And what if she'd slapped him, I supposed that must be burning at the stake.

That punishment would be reserved for someone mikshaking politicians like Widdecombe, Abbott. or May.

I agree that physical violence of any kind against campaigning politicians is completely unacceptable.
I would add that I would bet my house that if I called the police and told them someone threw a milkshake at me the assailant would never see the inside of a jail cell.

All that good work riling up the gammons with his National Service proposals and then he throws it all away by sneaking off before the end in Normandy so he can go to an ITV interview.

Re the milkshake throwing. I do not condone such behaviour and it was obviously pre-meditated. And yet there was equally no intent to cause injury. If there were something more solid than a milkshake would have been thrown. In the annals of criminal history this is barely going to warrant a footnote. And if any of us lesser mortals had had a milkshake thrown at us and reported it to the police we all know that sweet FA would have been done about it. The police are stretched as it is and seriously need to be spending their time on more serious stuff.
Nevertheless, there are inherent red flags here. We all know of MPs being murdered by extremists, and even at a lower level I myself was once physically assaulted for posting a Labour leaflet through someone's door. And the fact that many of us might regard Farage as politically odious is irrelevant. If someone could get close enough to throw milk over him, they could just as easily have done the same with acid. Either to him or any other politician. There is clear and present danger here because it only takes one serious nutter with a screw loose with some form of political agenda.
On a more political note, the Tories have started their tax bombshell lies early, but it seems most people are seeing this for what it is and are not being taken in. The likes of Jokesy on the other forum will of course swallow it whole. The more delusional fellows on the other forum appear to have convinced themselves that the moment Starmer gets in, he will be ousted and the far left will take over. Yes, I suppose you have to laugh.
The other forum is an utter waste of space insofar as intelligent discussion of the election is concerned. They are all there at the moment foaming at the mouth in faux outrage at a milkshake being thrown at Farage, yet we know the blatant fact that if it had happened to Keir Starmer or - even better - Jeremy Corbyn or Diane Abbot, they'd have all been laughing about it. It kind of sticks in your throat debating such an issue with them when you know that. A bunch of obvious idiots and hypocrites.
Anyway, I did the only thing that was worth doing there yesterday re this issue. I took the piss, and prodded the beehive with my stick, then sat back and chuckled for a bit as their foaming at the mouth reached rabid proportions, convincing themselves that here was I - a lefty - condoning violence, lol. Pointing out that I didn't actually condone it cut no ice of course. All this was good for a giggle until I got bored.
If anyone wants intelligent debate, you are no more likely to find it there than in the pages of the Beano. When you want to trigger the gammons and take the piss, that place is great. But for intelligent debate, best to stay here

How much tax will not increasing the threshold make? And is it a good way to raise that much needed tax.
In theory it is because you only start paying more tax if labour improve the economy and you earn more.
Thoughts everyone?
