Sorry Dappy, you seem more interested in whether the criminals could get caught, than whether its a serious crime. Cost wise the ram raiders got away with very little but caused about £8,000 quid worth of damage each time. The walk in assault and theft they took about 80 quid from the till. The CCTV saw their hoodies. Do you think these are serious crimes, they certainly feel serious when its you that has to pick up the pieces. Zany. I don’t understand. You were complaining that the police didn’t investigate the crimes to your satisfaction but now complaining that I am trying to understand how realistic it was for the police to apprehend the perpetrators. Realistically unless there is CCTV of the ram raiders or a way of tracing the perpetrators from the vehicle or there is intelligence, it’s going to be very hard for the police to do much. Understand that is very frustrating for the victims though. I am not sure where the definition of serious crime is. Clearly it is a more serious crime than say speeding and not as serious as murder. Does the label matter? I complained the police didn't investigate because they didn't. The point being that they didn't consider the crime serious enough to waste time on it. One of the ram raids, they drove a stolen vehicle past multiple cameras, but they didn't bother to view them. The crime did not warrant the police time needed. My point is the decision on whether the crime was worth investigating was made long before it was committed.

Must have been frustrating for you Zany. I imagine it must be hard to get much of use from CCTV trying to look inside a vehicle in motion with passengers seeking to hide their identity.

Again you miss the point. This was not about the police unable to pursue the criminals but unwilling to. But forget my story... Police 'not interested' in dealing with shoplifting, says M&S chairman. The chairman of Marks & Spencer has claimed police are “not interested” in dealing with shoplifting after figures showed the majority of store thefts in some crime hotspots were going unsolved. www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/05/13/police-not-interested-shoplifting-marks-spencer-chairman/#:~:text=Police%20'not%20interested'%20in%20dealing%20with%20shoplifting%2C%20says%20M%26S%20chairman,-Retailer%20being%20forced&text=The%20chairman%20of%20Marks%20%26%20Spencer,crime%20hotspots%20were%20going%20unsolved.

Zany has a point, the cops should have dealt with that terrible attack on his store and yes police often miss dealing with minor crime now, as a result of being overstretched
I hope Labour can right the ship I really do but have seen little indication they intend to, but despite what others think, I obviously hope whatever party is in charge does no matter their political outlook as it's what best for the country - that's what matters
