That's flat out untrue, that is exactly what he said. Israel 'has the right' to withhold power and water from Gaza, says Sir Keir Starmer. Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has decried the actions of Hamas as 'terrorism' and said Israel has the “right to defend herself.” LBCSo did he say Israel has the right to cut of Egypt or other countries supplying water and power? No Did he say forever? No and remember it was said when Israel was still under attack. Did he say 'everything should be done within international law'? yes he very much did. So in fact what I said was very much true

There's no way around that No, no it wasn't He said directly they could cut off Gaza's water and power, that's all there is to it. That was his direct statement. You read the link?

Priceless Absolutely if I withold breath from you I am not blocking your ability to breathe. Withold means 'refuse to give'. I've been withholding breath from you all my life but I bet you can still breathe.

Oh so if someone withholds water as per the infamous Liverpool pathway the fact you’ll die is not related to that.

Only in your mind because it neutralises your flawed stance and you are unable to present a cogent counter

I already have. Starmer was not advocating stopping Egypt supplying water.
When he made that statement, Hamas was still launching 200 lethal rockets a day at Israeli civilians.

Like I said priceless, you brought Egypt in to the equation to cover your inadequate defence. The water for Gaza has been controlled by Israel for decades over fifty in fact and Egypt has never had control or the infrastructure to supply it. link

So you say Egypt doesn't have trucks? I think you'll find it does.

So you say Egypt doesn't have trucks? I think you'll find it does. I think you’ll find you have more diversions than the highways agency, and why would Egypt risk its trucks being destroyed by Israel and the logistical nightmare of even replacing that supply by using trucks which Ithink you’ll find is nigh on impossible. You do remember what happened to the aid convoy and the Brits that got killed recently?

There are some fascinating intellectual acrobatics taking place in an attempt to explain away what Starmer actually said. But it isn't really working.

It is possible to condemn Hamas and the Israeli government and support civilians on both sides.
