Nevermind Zany, I and I suspect others will just stick to our other forum pol-tics from now on. I thought I did know you better than that, but you've made me realise this forum is probably not for me, as Monte said, if you kill humour on here it will die - the forum, being ridiculously strict about things when we're having a perfectly normal political conversation about our beliefs is just ... ? It's like you don't want anyone to discuss anything except exactly what you want I'll just post elsewhere from here on in, ta ra And others on here thank me for keeping the forum from following the pattern of others. I have seen two threads with Wapentake follow the same path of saying something and then spending the next four pages arguing he didn't, thus trashing the actual thread. If this is something you want here everyone please say and I will leave. However in my mod role, I have said previously, if people want me to stand down I am happy to do so. Please say here everyone, I wont mind. I guess it's sad that this place has not continued in the way it was initially hoped it would — it looks like we're managing to become as argumentative and confrontational as posters on other forums — but you have to admit, it's still not yet as bad as some.
Hopefully you'll stay around — like most others, I'm too lazy to want to do any modding.
I'm hoping those posters who've flounced off will return, as it can sometimes be an amusing distraction to look at the raving of some of the more bizarre inmates — bit like how Londoners used to get their kicks looking through the railings of the old Bethlem Asylum...

It's a lot better here than a certain other Pro Boards hosted forum most of us know of. There direct abuse is not just tolerated it is actually smiled at by Owner's chief officer.

Another poster mentioned Rackhamesque, I some times disagree with him but you know what I do like he says what he thinks may call you a pillock but without any rancour and holds no grudges and most importantly has a sense of humour. I would buy Red a pint if I ever got the chance. He's daft and his opinions are unthought through but he doesn't have a bad bone in his body. Anyway, thanks for the more measured response, shame it cost us Borg0. I will await the opinions of others who also objected to my actions.

I rather like Red too although sadly he does feel increasingly like a lesson in the dangers of radicalisation by excessive exposure to GB News.
Rather a shame the way this thread has gone. Generally Zany I think you do a very good job moderating this site. Honestly while underlying sentiment was sound, perhaps you were a little heavy handed here. Easy to criticise though, much harder to do in practice. We should all be grateful for your efforts.
On the subject of the main thread, I’ll be waiting to the autumn statement/budget thing in a couple weeks before making any judgement. Fearsome amount of issues to sort though. Going to be hard not to be swamped.

UK spending cuts would damage ‘foundations of the economy’, Reeves told
"Cutting public investment in the UK would damage the “foundations of the economy,” a group of leading economists has warned Rachel Reeves, advising the chancellor instead to overhaul Britain’s fiscal rules to help bolster spending.
In a letter to the Financial Times, the group of eight senior economists warns that the fiscal plans inherited by the Labour government to reduce investment spending as a share of GDP would repeat earlier mistakes and backfire and undermine growth.
Signatories include Lord Gus O’Donnell, a former cabinet secretary; Lord Jim O’Neill, a former Treasury minister under David Cameron; and Mariana Mazzucato, an economics professor at University College London.
The UK government’s current debt rules are responsible for an “inbuilt bias” against investment, they said.
“To follow through on these plans would be to repeat the mistakes of the past, where investment cuts made in the name of fiscal prudence have damaged the foundations of the economy and undermined the UK’s long-term fiscal sustainability,” the letter warned.

..thing is, the above is hardly new. Plenty economists have been saying it since Labour in opposition went all born-again fiscal conservative. Not that you'd know it from the MSM, including the BBC with its endless procession of hedge fund and Tufton St thinktank types (who aren't really economists, but speculators and lobbyists with vested interests).
Rudderless again..

I'm creating a thread for this interesting subject called 'free speech and public opinion' I am going to copy the body of this into it. Hope you stay. Can I re-iterate, there is no subject (Inside of the law) that I will stop being discussed on here. My whole job is to stop people destroying threads and attacking each other.
The issue I had with your post 'I made a Green comment on' was that you said something pretty much everyone took to mean one thing and then spent pages denying you said it instead of just clarifying what you meant and allowing conversation to continue.

Maybe you should revise trhe question then. As phrased it (call another election) was a valid option as of course it is. So is have a revolution or blow up parliament, but I decided to limit it to the realistic to prevent this type of crap. Great I finally get the Tracy Chapman song out of my head and you put it back in.

Said it before, reform the NHS so that it only performs essential services to do with physical health.
It's not the job of the state to provide people with cosmetic surgery or IVF. If people want either, let them save up their own money for it. It will not kill them if they do not get it. Promote adoption over IVF.
Sack all diversity staff in the NHS, military, police and the civil service transferring recruitment back to those who used to recruit in years gone by.
Doing this would save a ton of money.
Cut the number of politicians in our system (yes, hold a UK wide referendum and phrase the question so that it will get rid of devolution). Abolish the Barnett formula and replace it with a targeted system based on where public spending is most needed.
Tighten up security clearance vetting in the recruitment to the British Armed forces and security services. Abolish the discriminatory anti white "diversity" drive there too.
£2m a year goes on diversity staff in the British Armed Forces, with 50 staff doing nothing other than providing diversity policy. What use are they? Can they shoot? Can they drive tanks? No. Sack them. Transfer their duties to ordinary staff.

Whether or not devolution for Scotland should be abolished or not is a matter for the Scots and nothing the rest of us should have any say in. Unless your goal is to provoke rebellion and disorder. And phrasing any question in such a way as to gerrymander the result you want is the very antithesis of democracy. When it comes to getting rid of politicians, the House of Cronies and donors, aka the Lords is the place to start

But a poor sixteen year old girl whose breasts are enormous might disagree with your decision that the NHS cannot reduce them. A team of Philippine nurses might disagree that the diversity managers who understand the culture and needs are unnecessary. Perhaps you could list the NHS care you would be willing to forego instead.
