Or he's a jilted Trump supporter No evidence for that. He was a conservative who voted Republican according to the records, with no known mental illness (hence why he passed the background check to get a gun BTW)

The real question, which many here are trying to divert from, is why the Secret Service did such a terrible job at protecting a presidential candidate
Maybe we can actually discuss that for a change, instead of the snide stuff
I don't think innocent men deserved to die myself, nor does Trump, at the hands of some vengeful loner/bully because the SS can't be arsed to do its job properly

That was the state cops' responsibility. That's what the SS are saying anyway.

There are no background checks if you buy a firearm at a gun show or privately and tough gun laws are useless if the neighbouring state has very lax ones. Pretty sure the gunshow loophole got closed in April and private sales are heavily regulated in many states. And saying neighbouring state laws being lax allow this? That's like saying going to another country means you get away with stuff you couldn't in England, given how large America (and some states) are Many people outside the states don't realise how independent each state is. But if you have open borders between states you probably need more federal laws on gun sales

That is good. What's stopping it happening.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but not covering local roof tops sounds very amateur and suspicious.

That is good. What's stopping it happening. What's stopping what happening? In most states they require strong background checks and have strong gun laws. Remember in the UK you have to pass background checks and need farmland, or to be a member of a shooting club, or be in certain types of security to own a gun from what I recall. Yes you have to store the gun in the safe when not using it and can't walk around with it, but you still have a gun and could shoot somebody with it if so inclined. It's not that materially different for a determined shooter in the USA or UK in reality. The shooter actually got his gun from his father anyway, for supposed use at a shooting club he often went to, in PA. If one is so inclined they can just purchase it on the black market in the UK anyway. Someone I knew from school in London was shot dead simply for being on the wrong estate, it's not like there's no gun crime in England www.theguardian.com/uk/2007/nov/17/ukcrime.ukguns

Not sure where you refer to, but most Americans are in favour of gun laws, that's why they have them in nearly every state. And background checks are required in most. So any words suggesting or insinuating Americans don't want to 'limit anything' are ridiculous There is a large lack of knowledge about how things actually work in America, sadly, movies have perpetuated this There are no background checks if you buy a firearm at a gun show or privately and tough gun laws are useless if the neighbouring state has very lax ones. Exactly, and it's not difficult to cross state lines.

Suggest reading how gun laws actually work in most states, because that ain't it No, that's how it works here. That's why we haven't had a school shooting since 1996. It doesn't work there at all which is why you have more mass shootings than days most years. 302 mass shootings in the first 6 months of this year. 390 dead and 1,216 injured. And as I've said, if the Police had done their job properly, Thomas Hamilton would not have had his guns. The Dunblane massacre would not have happened, at least, not with firearms. Gun control wouldn't have stopped a massacre with bow weapons.

Brexit wasn't a con. You're just sad that free movement is over. How has it turned out to be a pro...?

And yet they're pretty keen on Health and Safety:-
Kimberly Cheatle, the Secret Service director, said the “sloped roof” where Thomas Matthew Crooks was positioned on Saturday could have posed a risk to agents.
“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,” she told ABC News on Tuesday.
