The police were asked how the shooter was so easily able to get into position with a rifle just 130m from Trump. Do you know what there answer was? lol IMHO many haven't been following the news about the Secret Service at all. Or the huge scandal surrounding it - that's how it actually happened in reality lol The SS arrest people for much more minor crimes than having a gun around the perimeter, they failed at their job horribly, some read the wrong news sources. Dunno how as Reuters and BBC carried good stories about it PA's gun laws everytownresearch.org/rankings/state/pennsylvania/It failed because the checks failed, not because the law is inadequate lol People don't treat guns like toys here. The cowboy movies have made people's imaginations go wild. I've only seen 4 people carrying a gun in nearly a year in Georgia, there's no grounds for that portion of the post I'm quoting Well it's arguable Trump has the mind of an 8 year old kid.... nonetheless it's sad an innocent guy died for no reason, because some terrorist tried to take out a prospective president. That's my take on it. Their gun laws are not at all as some make out and most Trumpists don't want the kinds of gun laws many make out they have either I'm glad Trump isn't dead, as it would mean a big crackdown on liberals, but people don't care about the consequences of their actions and beliefs etc and put 0 thought into it, especially in the MSM

No, it starts with having a valid reason to have a gun. Followed by a medical exam including mental health check. Then criminal background check and character references. Then a visit to the person's house to check they have a suitable locking cabinet to store any guns and a separate safe place to keep ammunition. The answer certainly isn't letting everyone walk around armed to the teeth with the only requirement being ''do you like guns''. Suggest reading how gun laws actually work in most states, because that ain't it No, that's how it works here. That's why we haven't had a school shooting since 1996. It doesn't work there at all which is why you have more mass shootings than days most years. 302 mass shootings in the first 6 months of this year. 390 dead and 1,216 injured.

It's usually in states with terrible laws. There also are still shootings in the UK and the police aren't doing enough to prevent unlawful gun ownership en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_Kingdomwww.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/03/10/catastrophic-failures-gun-vetting-putting-public-risk-plymouth/We have strong lobbying groups fighting with Russian money to keep guns legal here, read about the NRA and Russian lobbying efforts. IMHO, anyone insinuating America brings it on itself is heartless

I've spent probably hundreds of hours discussing this with Americans. You simply can't reason with gun nuts. They literally call the 30,000+ gun deaths a year 'the price of freedom'. So when it is some right wing nut job at a Trump rally who pays that price of freedom then I'm sorry but I have no more fucks to give.

No other industrial nation has anything like those numbers. There's a bloody good reason that there are only 3 nations in the world that grant a constitutional right to own firearms. America definitely brings this on themselves.

Not sure where you refer to, but most Americans are in favour of gun laws, that's why they have them in nearly every state. And background checks are required in most. So any words suggesting or insinuating Americans don't want to 'limit anything' are ridiculous There is a large lack of knowledge about how things actually work in America, sadly, movies have perpetuated this

I had a long argument that they might try and use technology to personalise guns (Make them only work for their owners) They fought me every step. I am pleased you contradict my views on this. It would be good to think most Americans want gun ownership limited.

Ok, so Americans deserve to get shot They deserve affordable mental healthcare. They deserve to be able to send their kids to school without fear that they will get shot. They deserve to be able to go to see a Batman movie or attend a country music festival without getting shot. They deserve 2 presidential candidates that aren't too old. They deserve a court system that treats a billionaire the same as anyone else. I don't think many deserve to get shot unless they are a serious danger to others.

Given the two they have as choice of president I think mental health care should be free, they need it.

Pretty sure the gunshow loophole got closed in April and private sales are heavily regulated in many states. And saying neighbouring state laws being lax allow this? That's like saying going to another country means you get away with stuff you couldn't in England, given how large America (and some states) are

Like the leftist nutjob who shot at the president for example There are a lot of dangerous types about who want to do that, unfortunately
