Blame immigrants, blame the unemployed and spend more on the army.
I think that just about covers it.

So he's lied about public spending, has an unfunded £30B cut in income tax and wants to throw us into an economic death spiral by tearing up the UK-EU deal.
Par for the course for Fibber Farage but so many dimwits will love it

Its interesting why Reform attracts so many racists etc. Farage seems genuinely annoyed by the stuff that keeps happening. So is Farage really a racist playing down his true thoughts on people from certain other continents or is his party against further immigration and that just happens to be the nearest thing to a party the racists can support. In the words of our beloved Red Rackham. Its not racist to want immigration stopped. Does the endless accusation of racism for even mentioning someone's country of origin if they aren't white and the penalising anyone who should accidentally use the term 'coloured' 'black' 'person of colour' instead of this weeks acceptable description. Lead many to feel they are nearer Farage than they otherwise would be. Orac raised an interesting point on here. When he suggested that if you bring enough people from different culture (one you don't admire) into this country, don't you risk losing your own culture. What was interesting was not so much Orac's particular view, but rather the fact that everyone immediately pulled out all the stops to distance themselves from the idea to the point where it was difficult to have the idea properly discussed at all. My fear is that by being too prissy we end up driving more and more into the arms of the fascists. I mean did the Nazis realise they were Nazis when they elected Hitler. I'm reminded of this sketch by Mitchell and Web. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKcmnrE5oY

With some trepidation I’ll pick this one up.
I always thought Red’s famous quote always lacked one key word “necessarily”
More interestingly perhaps, could you give me a practical example of “culture” that has been lost due to immigration. I have heard the phrase many times but don’t really understand what it is referring to.

Language, food, architecture you name it. Find me something that didn't originate from one of our previous waves of immigration. Can't even claim fish and chips.

I have heard the phrase many times but don’t really understand what it is referring to. You miss the point Dappy. I'm not discussing the accuracy of Oracs point, but the inability to discuss it and disprove it because of the inhibition on what can be said without the immediate accusation of Racism. That a growing number of people like Red Rackham feel disenfranchised because they don't have the elegant words to explain their point without being called racist. AND that any criticism of cultural tendencies different to what we are used to is seen as small minded unless its some daft extreme like genital mutilation.

(Talk about triggering the gammons) I am referring to the inability to discuss without this immediate self defence reaction leading quickly to accusations of Racism. By example Eastern Europeans don't culturally wait in line is acceptable to say, but most would be scared to say Asian Muslims don't wait in line for fear of the BIG R word.

Perhaps it's because 'immigrants destroying our culture' is a racist trope going right back to Nazi propaganda about 'blood and soil'. Honestly, if you have such little faith in 'British' culture being strong enough to survive then is it really so special in the first place? There are valid arguments to be made against too much immigration but destroying our culture is not one of them.

Hence my point about the Nazis not thinking they were Nazis before someone they elected started killing the Gypsies Jews Homosexuals. Because we shut down any discussion we keep the lid on the pressure cooker. Or to better explain we put those with little gripes in the pressure cooker with the racists and leave it to explode. Thus someone fearing as does Red Rackham that even suggesting we don't want any more immigration will be seen as racist.

If your point Zany is that people of all sides do not listen to and respect each other enough and instead seem happier to retreat to their silos throwing inane rocks at each other - I agree with you. We are both refugees from another forum largely as a result and the “gammon” thread on this forum suggests that our side Is not immune from that behaviour too.
For me though it’s quite difficult to engage in a conversation about say “lost culture” unless those articulating that view can explain what they mean and similarly wish to have a challenging but amicable conversation.
Sadly that desire is rare on both sides of this and other arguments.

I'm reminded of this sketch by Mitchell and Web. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKcmnrE5oYZany, - the argument about culture is reasonable (even on the left's terms) but it can't be engaged in (afforded). by anyone who is pro-immigration. The risk of destroying or reducing a culture that works and expanding a culture that doesn't work (at the former's expense) is real. It's not even just a risk, It is hard to see how you would perform mass immigration from failed societies without it happening. However, the trivial observation leads to a question - why are we doing this at all? Is the objective here to fix your 'opponents' with a parasite they can't avoid? To teach them a lessen in humility?? Are you trying to destroy the society that you live in? Is this a cynical 'spoiling action'? The left's (pro immigration) tactic is not to allow the debate at all - to make it taboo to talk plainly about the obvious - and this tactic has worked for decades. Now the paint is peeling and people are starting to ask questions and state how they feel. Why should our community in particular be under continuous numerical and territorial siege? Why is the BBC applauding when they hear about our further reduction? Why can't this policy be stopped by normal democratic means by mainstream parties?
