It wasn't paranoia, but jealousy and hate. The same as when someone murders their former partner for leaving them and doing well on their own instead of recognising their own faults and becoming a better person. Or possibly forward planning for the decline in demand for gas and oil. Wishing to add Ukraine's food basket to its exports.

There's significant gold and rare earth deposits in the stolen territories as well as coal, iron ore, natural gas and oil.

I'm glad we agree on something. Never disagreed with you on Putin. On Iraq, I just wanted a more measured view than we got.

Well, terrorism went through the roof, an unexpected consequence was domestic terrorism in the UK as well, provoked in part by the false revelations by Phil Shiner, but mostly by the invasion itself which was not necessary.
The Lib Dems were right to argue for more time for weapons inspection. But you know if Hans Blix had been able to finish his work, sanctions would have eased.
One of the problems with the sanctions is the effect on infant mortality. Something that arsehole George Galloway made a lot of fuss about, but was actually right about.

The answer is ofcourse to do nothing. Which we tried in Syria after the fall out over Iraq. We are still seeing the results of that experiment. There are no good answers, just better and worse ones. One thing is certain, we cannot just shut the world out as some wish us to.
