Did anyone see Dan Dare's posts about 'darkies' at the other place this morning?
Wow! Dan Dare gets to use white supremacist language, but anyone who calls him a Nazi is subject to being banned! His posts appear to have been removed, but he doesn't seem to have been sanctioned.
Well done to the mods over there! In fairness, it's entirely consistent with their reaction to the Goebbels remark.

To be fair, few people ever fit in on that forum unless they are prepared to kiss ass in regards to the long standing members. It is a bit like the internet version of a village where everyone has known each other for years, but are hostile and mistrustful of newcomers. However much you may disagree with a long standing member about something, you nevertheless are expected to show a respect which is not reciprocated for some undisclosed period of time before you earn the right to debate as an equal. If you do not you risk a torrent of angry foul mouthed abuse from the Admin for daring to debate as an equal with one of his long term mates. Anyone who upon joining a forum automatically assumes himself or herself to be the equal of anyone already there and who is not prepared to kiss ass for an indeterminate period of time or accept being regarded as a lesser being with fewer rights, is best advised to steer well clear of Urban 75. That Veronika didn't fit in is no surprise at all. Her face was never going to fit there. They may have a point though. I myself have long suspected her of being a Russian stooge, though she is clearly a real person and not a bot. But that they banned her rather than seeking to win the debate against her is typical of the place though. I wouldn't piss on Urban 75 if it was on fire. Since the majority there seem to be lefties, that a lefty such as I feels that way speaks volumes about the place. |

I logged in to Urban 75 and discovered that my account there is still live. I looked at a particular thread where a mod told me to wind my neck in after himself calling me a bellend, a buffoon and a cunt. The Admin himself called me a cunt as well. He and others got it into their heads that I was some other twat called Wells whom I had never heard of and asked me point blank to confirm or deny it, with no evidence at all beyond their own apparent paranoia.
So mods conducting themselves in such a manner tells you all you need to know about the kind of site it is.
Can you imagine Orac calling someone a cunt? Or zany calling someone a buffoon and a bellend in an official mod message? Or accusing someone without evidence of being someone else and insisting they confirm or deny it?
So I posted a suitably abusive post calling the mods and admins twats and cunts in pursuit of my account being deleted. I dont ever want to return to such a hostile site simply because someone reminds me of it or posts a link to it. Clearly that kind of abuse and hostility is very bad for me and I need to be nowhere near it

I wanted them to ban me as asked. But they were being dicks about it in spite of me citing my mental health. So I had to make the most egregious rule breaks I could think of to get them to do what they just could have done in the first place. It seems to have worked. I am banned now and don't need to be told what reactions are there. They ought to have realised that pornographic imagery can be found in seconds via google as can other unacceptable material. And there is far worse out there than what I posted. If they do not ban you when requested they surely know that if you are determined to be banned, their refusal invites the kind of posting that will force them to in the end. They brought that upon themselves by being dicks about it. If I asked for a ban here, I know it would be respectfully granted, and even if it wasnt, I would never post anything of that nature here to force anyone's hand, because the people in charge here are decent people with compassion and understanding, as are most of the members. Because they would avoid trying to trigger me with egregious offensiveness, I would in any case find it easier to just walk away for a bit. When you are subjected to wilfull and callous and highly offensive abuse, if you have mental health issues it kind of triggers you creating a need to hit back, focussing your anger as a shield against anxiety or depression. It becomes psychologically both highly damaging yet very difficult to walk away. Which is why I desperately needed to be banned. Their lack of nous and compassion made them essentially too emotionally thick to understand that and forced me to take action so drastic that they had to ban me, because I needed that to happen |
