There is rain expected at Silverstone today, that will make it an even more interesting race.

Sir Lewis wins his first race since 2021. It's the Starmer effect.

Used to love F1, but I haven't watched it very much in years. Glad its safer than it used to be though.
I was out in my 4x4.

I'd left it at the pub the night before, went over on the bike collected it, did a bit of offroading, drove home, walked back to the pub in the evening. Fun day.

Yes but it can leave a driver stranded on a lap on wrong tyres if the downpour starts just as they pass the pit entry. That didn't happen on Sunday but Piastri was very unlucky - might have won but for McLaren choosing to avoid the 'double stack' penalty.

In other news about the race, it showed just how much the UK has changed for the good in my lifetime when the crowd cheered a black British driver overtaking a white British driver.

The rain makes for the best races, was watching Michael Schumacher in Monaco in 1997 and that was an amazing race. That guy was an exceptional racer and rightly got the title of 'Rainmaster', Hamilton is also great in the rain.
I like that rain makes races lottery like, it's more fun when it's like that. Who likes the guy with the best car/straight line speed/aggression winning all the time? Not me
As for the rain weeding out less able cars, no, cars are less likely to overheat in the rain and it slows the race down. It all comes down to driver craft
And even then, less able drivers can also win in the rain if they get the right tyres before everyone else, or at least score more points by coming higher at the finish, that's not always a bad thing either, it affords less able teams more points because they chose a better strategy than the richer teams. It's good all round and a great leveller
