If that were to happen, could there be peace?

IMHO unlikely because there would still be Iran and those extreme parties in Israel. But it'd be a start.

Netanyahu is not the problem it is the Israeli colonial occupation that is the problem.
Hamas is not the problem, if they are removed another 'terror' group will form to resist the Israeli colonial occupation.

I would have Israel removed from Gaza and the West Bank. And a UN administered Palestinian state for 50 years, until everyone of fighting age and fighting ideology, had died / was too old. I would ensure that boys and girls grew up in safety, with a proper education so they can work, earn money, and have decent lives, and when after fifty years, the question of a peaceful transfer of power to a sovereign, elected Palestinian government came about, so long as they had become sufficiently secular, there would be no reason not to.
But first, Hamas and the other terrorists need defeating and eliminating, by a UN force, not Israel.

A UN force could not defeat Hamas just as Israel cannot, yes they could kill a lot of innocent people trying but that would not be a solution, that would be escalation. I agree Hamas need defeating but you cannot defeat an idea, Hamas would reorganise under a different banner and continue resisting the occupation of their lands by Israel or the UN. It really is as simple as sorting Israel out and defining legally binding borders. It will take generations for the Palestinians to be able to 'trust' an Israeli state enough to live side by side in peace.

Hamas were allowed arms because Netanyahu never wanted a Palestinian state to exist. By allowing Hamas to carry out terrorism against Israel, he had a pretext to say, I'm going to retake this land and it will be Israel again.
Both he and they need removing from the picture. Disarming them is possible.
Prior to the two state solution, there was never a sovereign country called Palestine. Netanyahu wants to turn the clock back to 1992. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd like to take the Sinai too.

Technically, the Palestinian people are allowed by law to defend themselves against an occupying military force - whether that defence consists of a group called 'Hamas' or by any other name, they have a right.
