While this place is finding its feet, it’s good to see that the words “woke” and “lefty” are not thrown around in every other post. I hope that continues. The other place — in fact, several other places — get bogged down with semi literate political speak and juvenile rantings of those who are still enthralled by the fact they can insult people without getting their lights punched out.
Hope this place prospers…

Well the forum's around 3 months old now and I for one am very pleased.
The membership is growing steadily and the conversation is a good mix of fun stuff and interesting view points.
Nothing so far that even needs moderating. Well done everyone, I hope you are all liking it as much as I.

However I do not follow every thread on here so I simply won't see things developing.

Zany Zany, I hope you will agree that it is counter-productive for mods to air their views on the open forum when the matter can be dealt with by pm. In my opinion, one of the failings at the other place is its astonishingly high mod visibility. It's the equivalent of having a police car on every corner. Speaking as someone who has had his fair share of mod attention, I can attest to the fact that co-operation is far more likely if matters are kept out of the public eye, for the obvious reason that there is no public loss of face. I'm not saying that members shouldn't have the right to openly dispute mod decisions in the proper place and in the proper manner, just that things should be kept as low-key as possible. That said, we're probably getting a bit ahead of ourselves - our current focus should be on expanding membership. |
