It is incredibly disturbing to me that these rationally argued viewpoints against this war … are now being rapidly removed from the Internet at such a tense time when the UK MOD has just escalated the risk of an incredibly dangerous nuclear attack on this Country with new missile strikes deep into Russia. … which is bound to trigger … retaliation. The fake Donetsk People's Republic and fake Luhansk People's Republic were declared, and war was launched against the Ukrainians to distract them and prevent the liberation of Crimea. Mercs lead by Igor Girkin shot down Malaysian Airlines flight MH-17 with a Russian made Buk launcher. Mercenaries of the Wagner Group kidnapped kids for Putin, a paedophile. You are defending evil. |

And if he were to launch a first strike he'd be committing suicide as the counter strike would wipe him and his cronies out. All he has to do is stop attacking the Ukrainians and the war is over. Whether Ukraine joins NATO or not is a decision for Ukraine, and would have to be agreed by NATO. Russia does not get a say in the sovereign decision of a third country.
If Russia's decision to invade was made on this basis (and that isn't clear) then it failed spectacularly as NATO gained two more members directly as a result.
