We Have an Ex-Bank Clerk Running the Economy

I'll C&P what I posted on Pol-Tics shredding this idiot story for idiots a couple of weeks back:

Trump: How does he propose to get his convictions wiped?

Gaetz: You don't have to break any laws to be a sexual predator. You just have to take advantage of your senior position to have sexual relations with 17-year-olds over which you are in a position to exert undue influence.

Kenndey: It's great that he won't stop people taking life-saving vaccines. But he's proposed as Secretary of Health, for God's sake. It's  not  like when Nigel Farage said that smoking doesn't cause lung cancer. Kennedy will be taken seriously simply by virtue of his office.

Trump: LOL! Trump may pardon himself. And I suppose if he pardoned a serial killer, that would mean nobody died. By the way, does a pardon mean that a conviction is quashed in the sense that someone is found to be innocent and no crime is held to have occurred? Or does it simply mean that no punishment is applicable to someone whom the law accepts has a committed a crime? Because if it's the latter, Trump will still be a convicted felon even if he pardons himself.

Gaetz: There's still time. And even if he's innocent, what sort of idiot appoints a man with that sort of shadow hanging over him as the country's highest law official?

Kennedy: Of course Kennedy means well. That's not good enough when lives are at stake, though.

Trump: He had a fair trial. He can give himself as many pardons as he wants - he won't change that. He will still be a convicted felon. 

Gaetz: The charges against him are unproven at this point. He may be innocent. But what does it say about Trump that he was prepared to overlook the shadow hanging over him? Do you think his own 'Grab 'em by the pussy' attitude makes him more sympathetic? Probably, I would have thought.

Kennedy: It doesn't matter if some disagree with the vaccine mandates. Some disagree with the proposition that the world is a sphere. That doesn't make it flat. It is the responsibility of the official overseeing the health of a nation to defer to best medical opinion.

Absolute rubbish! Best medical practice is  empirically verifiable. Just because there are people out there who believe that homeopathy is the best treatment for some serious illnesses, doesn't mean that it is. It is not in the eye of the beholder - best medical practice is objective fact capable of empirical demonstration.

And all the other stuff isn't in the eye of the beholder, either. It is the height of poor judgment to appoint someone as a nation's highest representative of law and order if there is even a shadow of doubt about something as serious as is alleged against Gaetz.

A pardon is an admittance of guilt. You can't pardon an innocent man.
