It's a bit like having Mary Poppins as a guest.
Yesterday's fare included:
Sausage and shrimp rolls Cheese stuffed jalapeƱos Veggie stuffed peppers Grilled cheese polenta Honey and mustard wings with dijon dip
And because there were half a dozen kids here too, she'd prepped dough beforehand, and had them making their own pizzas, too.
And still found the time and energy to drink, chat, and play stupid party games into the evening. Remarkable.
Today she's gone to Nottingham with My Excellent Assistant, and I'll meet up with them this evening to see some of youngest's friends play at Rough Trade..

My guest was originally due to return home on Wednesday, and she's scratched that until next weekend. Relocated from hotel to my place, and now having to amuse herself while I work.
Went up to York on Friday (I had to pick up a set model from a model maker) and stayed over to see the sights. Aside from that it's been business as usual.
That'll teach her.

Shaksouka for lunch.
A cut above the usual sarnie.

Shaksouka for lunch. A cut above the usual sarnie. Had to look it up. Looks very nice, an interesting way to cook eggs. My Thai friend used to deep fry boiled eggs until crispy to go with a curry, very nice.

My Thai friend used to deep fry boiled eggs until crispy to go with a curry, very nice. Sounds unusual, but intriguing. Alternatively, just leave the shell on. Less bother - still crispy.

I worked at one place were I soft poached duck eggs then rolled them in cornflour before deep frying to go on a nice green salad with pancetta and croutons.
