A concerned, and slightly inebriated, citizen writes:
Labour MP Mike Amesbury punched a man to the ground and stood over him and aggressively berated him, he later said 'he' felt threatened.
This incident took place at about 2.40am and if you watch Labour MP Mike Amesbury, he not only sounds pissed, but he looks decidedly unsteady on his feet.
So, a Labour MP assaults a member of the public in the street after a night on the piss.
I wonder what Labour will have to say about this? If anything. If it were a Tory or perish the thought a Reform UK MP I imagine two tier Keir would hold a press conference and demand the MP in question was charged with assault.

Prescott would be ashamed of Amesbury - the man Amesbury punched had his hands in his pockets.

The only words I add to these posts are the opening words (A concerned citizen writes ...). Everything else is the product of gammon genius.

Why not put it in italics or in quotes?

Prescott would be ashamed of Amesbury - the man Amesbury punched had his hands in his pockets. A completely cowardly sucker punch. The man's a violent bully.

NO, no, no you all have it wrong. He did not hit the man the man threw his face at the MPs fist.
He should be elevated to the House of Lords and given a large contract for something useless as is the norm in these cases.

Amesbury has been charged with common assault and battery. (six months max penalty)

Inevitable really as is his needing to find a career outside of politics. But I suspect he'll drag this out for as painfully long as he can.

Prescott accidentally did it, no one is perfect True but a few people are very bad. This 'you can't criticise unless you're perfect' philosophy is very much mistaken. Giving someone a potentially lethal blow when not under physical attack and then continuing to hit them when defenceless on the ground would put someone very much into that few. FWIW Prescott acted in reasonable self defence with a not unreasonable (but mistaken) belief he was being punched.

That's not my philosophy at all. The philosophy is that no one can criticise anyone as no one is perfect
Prescott thought the egg might have been hot IIRC so lashed out about that
