My next poll will ask the question, 'Do I have too much time on my hands?'.

More importantly jam first then cream or the wrong way around.

My next poll will ask the question, 'Do I have too much time on my hands?'. Not 'jam or cream first' poll? edit Monte beat me to it To your current question I'd say each to their own - vive the difference but as it happens I have it rhyming with 'gone'. But being sad I googled it and found this map

Yet cone doesn't rhyme with gone.

Yet cone doesn't rhyme with gone. Wouldn't you just hate to be a foreigner confronted with learning English?

It's funny that people think this is important (with a small i).
I went for a coffee with my dad over Easter. He was standing beside me as I ordered two coffees and two scones (rhymes with bones). Did he thank me as I delivered the scones and coffee to the table where he was now sat? Nope! The first words out of his mouth were, 'It's pronounced scone' (rhymes with Ron). Beastly man!

He was probably annoyed because you put the cream on first with the jam on top. Lucky not to get a slap IMHO.

That's all that mattered to me.
