I was once a member of a forum which, unknown to most members including myself, had a secret sub-forum. Only members invited by the owner of the forum were able to see it. One member got to know another member's login details and when he logged in using those login details he was surprised to see the hidden sub-forum. He saw that the sub-forum was used mainly to post abusive messages about outsiders who were never invited to join the sub-forum, without having to be concerned by replies.
He then decided to copy a lot of the messages and post them in the main forum. As you might guess, the members who were written about in a derogatory fashion were less than happy. As a result about half the members left the forum.
The above is all perfectly true by the way.
I have long suspected that the other forum, you know which one I mean, might have such a secret sub-forum where only right wing members are invited to join. A kind of a KKK meeting. Of course I have no evidence of this.
I have no reason to believe that this forum contains a secret sub-forum but you can never be sure.

When we started out, Monte and I had to decide who we would invite here. This was done out of public view. Necessarily, we discussed people at the other place. It wasn't a sub-forum, though. When we 'went public' there was a pm group (five or six members). Other than that, there isn't one.

In these days of WhatsApp groups I suspect all sorts of semi secret groups exist on some forums in addition to the obvious staff room feature most forum software auto provides. Even if they were a bad thing (and I'm not sure they are) trying to stop them would be an exercise in futility. As things to ever worry about IMHO they're well near the bottom of the list. If there's a secret sub group here discussing me or anyone then I suggest take solace in the wisdom of Oscar Wilde www.brainyquote.com/quotes/oscar_wilde_128481

I would not wish to be part of one either.

Honestly, I doubt Tin' would have anything to do with a far right sub forum and only he could set one up. What is more likely is people setting up PM groups (up to 6 members).

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not talking about you.

I don't think they need to. Most of the remedial team are not able to debate properly and just go around name calling and Willie Wanging. There's actually little debate that actually goes on, it's just shouting, they don't need a subforum for this as it's just brazen anyway. Noone has any respect.

There is still some decent posting going on there but most decent discussions get shat on as soon as the usual suspects see they're questioning their beliefs.

Agreed, I struggle to think how any secret forum could be worse than the real one.

Everyone needs to follow paranoid people around To be fair, it's often a trait on many forums and most people don't even realise they're doing it half the time. Others see no irony whatsoever in what they post, or simply post out of anger and lack of understanding and do the exact same they accuse others of That's just the nature of forums on the internet, at least this one is a bit better than others I have no doubt I'm considered one of the "remedial team", which would be accurate as I'm taking remedial Russian lessons anyway, which is nice. I'm enjoying learning a new language even at a low grade, I'll get to grade 4 eventually.. Edit:

Pretty much how all forums go, unfortunately, with others seeing no irony in what they post and accusing others of the very same in the very next post I expect everyone is both a culprit and a 'victim' at some point in these exchanges so guilty of both
