Opening ceremony getting seriously rained on.
I missed the start but saw from the dancing on a barge going up the river.
Lots of transgender dancers to upset the gammons.
I liked the silver horse running on water.
A bit naff compared to Danny Boyle's 2012 opening ceremony.
Roll on the sports.
Go GB.

Yep Danny Boyle is the King of opening ceremonies. I watched a bit of it while Mrs Steve was getting din dins, the teams on boats aside it was mostly a cringefest.

I think we saw the last half hour and it was very good, classy to have to many non French in there and no fireworks and yet quite a spectacle

Revenge for the Euros as GB beat Spain 4-0 in the field hockey.
Also, GB get a first day medal (bronze in the women's diving pairs) for the first time in 20 years.
