You know full well. They elected the Parliament and the Parliament elected her.
Far more democratic than the country just outside your front door

Not elected then, appointed. From elsewhere: Why isn't the Commission directly elected by EU citizens? Easy. No country trusts their people to directly elect ministers in a government, that is the purpose of the winning party; to choose reliable specialists with substantial knowledge on the matter. Would you imagine voting in Farage into the office of the commissioner for environment, maritime affairs and fisheries? No, the commission should be made up of people who know well the area given to them, and are able to maintain the simple, day-to-day functioning of the given sector as executive power. The reason why the EU commission is what it is lies in the member states. It's not some evil plan to rule Europe from shadowy places. The EU has no real power. The commissioners answer directly to their respective national governments. That's also exactly the reason why the parties in the EU parliament don't form a government - it would dramatically shift the power to the nations with the most people, as the parliament is proportional, while nowadays there is one commissioner per member state.

Attention should also be paid in the above to the reasons why the EU parliament doesn't form a government.

Not elected then, appointed. Elected, the parliament could have said 'no, find another candidate'. Just like they made it known they would do 5 years ago over the commission's then choice which is how she got to be elected instead. Any more absurdly incorrect criticisms of the EU you're going to post today? There are genuine flaws but this continual holding of the EU to far higher standards than you hold others to just shows you have a real guilt problem with the fuck up you and your fellow travellers vested on the UK.

It seems corruption is OK and should be normalised But you have presented no evidence of such, just snide insinuations from politico.

And snide insinuations from Euronews too no doubt, nevermind the content of the actual articles and what it outlines.
Are Euronews biased anti-EU or worse....
