Does it really matter who was trolling who on other sites? And any deletions here would surely have an explanation? Can't recall anything I have posted being deleted yet, except for an entire silly thread whose deletion I requested myself. I risk running foul of Zany the mod however because I resorted to piss taking when he asked for evidence that Gordon Brown did something he actually admitted to doing and apologised for. He might take umbrage. I do not know Borg from elsewhere but most of the posts I have seen him make on this forum seem reasonably well argued and not trolling. And I instinctively dislike situations where mods seem too quick to threaten bans out of their own frustration. If too much weight starts being thrown around here I will leave. Those who dislike my politics might well be glad to see the back of me, but echo chambers are very boring. For clarity. No one is going to get deleted or banned for taking the piss out of something said. It is taking the piss out of the person that gets deleted. That and off topic runs attacking personalities. So. "That's absolute bollox Zany and you must know it" is OK "Zany only thinks wants that so he can force his workers into poverty while he gets rich" Is not Ok. "SRB if you think the a majority of voters in this country would ever elect Corbyn you off your trolley" Is OK "SRB is just a stupid Commy living in a Stalinist fantasy" Is not OK. FYI .before Borg joined us I as a mod had not taken any action against any person beyond a quick note to them to calm down. Bottom line is, I will do all in my power to keep this forum rolling as it is now where people join and make interesting comments on politics etc. I will do everything within my power to stop it becoming like Tincs site where all interesting topics got trashed by character assassinations for the amusement of a few idiots. I've seen far worse. That to me is just a misrepresentation of me using strong language. Cut out the strong language and it is what many people do, including sometimes me and you. You for example have called me a Corbynista before as well as far left, whilst I have often called your a Blairite or even occasionally a Thatcherite. Lazy mislabelling happens all the time, it is the abusiveness that comes with it that can be a problem. And accusing someone of talking bollocks is just an earthier way of telling someone you think their opinion is wrong. If that can be backed up with a reasoned argument as to why that I can respond to, I would not be all that bothered. |

For somebody who supports Corbyn and his views and thinks he should run the country Corbynite is not an insult. I have no objection to you calling me Blairite because broadly I am. If you called someone Thatcherite is would not be an insult even if they then corrected you on their views. Mislabelling is very different to realising someone has a button you can push and finding every opportunity to push it. And yes posts that contain supposed insults alongside reasoning are treated better than straight dismissal by labelling. Indeed often I just remove the insult and leave the main point, thus not destroying the thread or losing someone's point. This is a new idea and may work fine, but anyone who doesn't like my moderation or wants to shout insults across the bar is free to go to the endless forums providing this service. |

You do know me from elsewhere - a few years back I went under the nic 'Dynamis' over on Pol-Tics.com, figured you would recognise me as 'Borg' because I posted on Pol-Tics that I was Dynamis.. We fought quite a bit on pol-tics, ditto with Thomas but I've always liked both of you and often read your posts with interest Funny. Thomas has been calling me Dyno for years, obviously under the impression I'm you. The Squeezed Pimple thought Thomas was me. It's all very strange. |

Squeeze also said I was Thomas, pretending to be an Irishman or a Scotsman (I'm not sure he knows the difference) and before that they came up with a massive thing about how I was some kind of dangerous stalker who has been stalking Vanna for years (I have interacted with her maybe 4 times in my entire life), and have some obsession with her bizarre paintings.
