Ash Regan MSP @ashreganalba · 3m 1/3 After less than a week in power, the MP for Doncaster North has decided to push the Scottish oil and gas industry off a cliff. This reckless decision endangers the livelihoods of Scottish workers and will not achieve net zero

The government has to either believe and act in its avowed commitment to net zero or not. Milliband has a choice: be dishonest or not or change the commitment. Seems he's taking the first option. Better than what the Tories did when they took the dishonest route.

Better than what the Tories did when they took the dishonest route. Fuck net zero. Net zero will be ground into the dust when the horrors of what it actually means for the peoples of the west become ever more apparent. Thank christ im no one of the poor buggers about to be cast onto the dole queue in the North Sea oil and gas sector.

That's a different debate. This is all about probity. If you have a supposed commitment to net zero then you either have to change it or support it or be dishonest. Sunak chose the latter.

Sunak chose the latter. scrap the commitment. Like I said , the public in many countries are slowly coming around to what this vanity project net zero actually means for them. Who cares what sunak chose? He is out of a job , and the tories are toast , of little relevance , and we are now into the labours administrations term in office. In a multi party uk. I dont think davy up in Aberdeen cares one jot who committed to what , but merely the fact ed milliband , down in England , is about to make him and his family poorer.

Reform saying 'you can't trust' Labour. Guiness World Record levels of irony why? are reform scrapping North Sea oil and gas licences? Are reform in government making people colder poorer and losing them employment on the altar of net zero? I think the level of irony is once again the low watt lightbulbs of liberal centrist la la land are once more empowering reform and Farage.

Think of the next General Election, and under FPTP it has to be poor old Ed Miliband himself who has to knock on the doors of the houses in Doncaster North, and say 'I'd like you to vote for me to continue representing you in Parliament' ..... and the bloke who's answered the door, and he's dressed in overcoat, gloves, woolly hat and scarf, looks over his shoulder at his freezing kids, both blue with the cold .... and is about to grab Miliband by the lapels and escort him off the premises, despite Ed's protestations such as 'Forget about the cold Sir ...I beseech you, remember the PROBITY' ..... but the constituent tells Red Ed where he can stick his probity. Now imagine that the public have been conditioned to think in general terms only .... in the wider context of Political Parties only, as the electorate get to grips with this new PR system. So its focus on the Leaders mostly, all very Presidential ..... how many will bother to look up lists and see that Labour have the name of Miliband tucked away for this new super constituency that encompasses the whole of Doncaster and much more. And as the system demands Party focus rather than candidate focus .... only the fanatics will have any clue whether it's a Party worker, an agent, or one of the mostly faceless names from 'the list' who's shoving a leaflet through your letter box ...... and better still they can keep Ed Miliband under wraps ..... 'no campaigning for you this time round Ed, some people on the list are better kept out of sight, but don't worry the voting public have got no way of relegating you to the bottom of our list, the Party still love you, and if enough of them want Labour they'll find they're getting you'.
'Long live the list, long live green energy, long live proportional representation' shouts Ed triumphantly ..... 'I might just drive home past a particular household in Doncaster North and toot my car horn loudly for them ...... a sort of three cheers for Proportional Representation .... mind you, they might all have died of hypothermia by now'
