(in the absence of a News section I have posted this here)
www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-69025640Few surprises, governments, senior NHS people and pharmaceutical companies betrayed people leading to deaths, misery and badly impaired lives. We can expect the government to announce massive compensation to of course be funded by us. But we should also be imprisoning the guilty, bankrupting them to be the party of first resort for the compensation and removing any honours and House of Lords places they may have. Will such happen? Of course not.

What's the betting the Tories settle generously just before they are voted out leaving Labour to find the money?

What's the betting the Tories settle generously just before they are voted out leaving Labour to find the money? Very high but to be fair even I won't say they controlled the timing, the inquiry did. And that speaks to another issue. These inquiries take way way too long. Taylor took just weeks to get Hilsborough right, why has this taken so many years?

Will there be fair awards before the election, or will the can be kicked further down the road so the funding sums won’t need to be done before 2025/26…?

Even it then gets paid into their estates, let's hope it's enough to move all claimants into the realms of death duties, and not just be another dodge to avoid paying out.
The same too for the Post Office payouts.
I wonder if there'll be prosecutions following either inquiry...

I suspect they'll get it right (after so many years and years of getting it so wrong) So someone might get an award of say £1million to be paid as £100k already, £200k nearly immediately and then £70k a year for 10 years either to them or their estate.
