Favourite Christmas toy or memory

A paratrooper's uniform. I must have been 7 or 8. I remember sleeping with it under my pillow, I was so in love with it.

Never had a scalextric had the cheap version called criss cross .we also had a Hornby electric train set .

When I was young I used to ask for Kerplunk every Christmas, don't know why I liked it so much. Always had to get another Kerplunk at Christmas, because it always seemed to be the case that since the previous year I had always - quite literally - lost my marbles, lol.

Other shit I can remember asking for and getting included Mousetrap, lol

I can't really remember which toys I got as Christmas presents and which ones I got for birthdays.
I do have quite a strong memory of one Christmas in '72 when I was 7. The year we moved to Germany.
We headed to a place called Winterberg in the mountains hoping to find some snow.
We were booked into a hotel but unfortunately the whole town was closed for Christmas and there were no restaurants open anywhere including the hotel. Christmas dinner was bought in a grocery store which was thankfully open on Christmas Eve and eaten on the floor of our hotel room, like a picnic.

We did find some snow the next day though. We drove into the mountains and found a frozen lake which seemed popular with the locals. Unfortunately I took one step and fell straight on my face giving me one of only two black eyes I've ever had (the other was a self inflicted yo-yo injury on Taunton high street some 30 years later).
