I heard on Sunday there re making a film about the Six Millom dollar man . Dose that come under Scfi . Every since the first reboot I read of, twenty+ years ago ("Will Smith IS The Six Billion Dollar Man!" - inflation..), I'd bet four or five producers have announced it. File under "believe in when you see it".

Run there fast or jump a long distance/height with bionic legs to get to said thing. Bash said thing with bionic arm. Rinse and repeat. RoboCop did it so much better.

I belive Terry pracett a good Scfi Novelist. Never read his books One of my favourite stores in Manchester is forbidden planet Just purchasing a 1950s Robbie the robot tank it's metallic blue cost nearly £400 Think it will retail around the £600 mark . I'd say he mostly wrote fantasy rather than sci-fi.

Even as a kid, I was troubled by the idea that, while having a bionic arm may be pretty cool - try lifting a car with it and his spine was going to crumple like a soggy rizla. The original pilot still stands up pretty well. A lot darker, and Martin Balsam in the role Richard Anderson went onto play in the series. I still have my toy Steve Austin on a shelf (although the rubber foreskin affair covering his arm long since disintegrated...).

Yeah, I think we often have fond memories of the things we watched as kids but when you actually go back and watch them they are often very disappointing. It's why they don't show repeats of the Goodies.

The Goodies were superb. You can't get some of the episodes now.

I have Six million dollar figure and his repair station still boxed . Nerd. Mine was played with (and later, by my boys) until it practically fell apart.. (I also had the Oscar Goldman figure as a kid. If I still owned it, and had left it boxed, I could probably give Mr Musk a run for his money these days..).

Anyone remember Space Patrol? Dimly. Rather weirdly, I remember it in terms of "Space Patrol Sweet Cigarettes" - which were around in the corner shop many years after the show had been and gone. Saw a couple of episodes a while back. Inferior Gerry Anderson clone..
